Pipeline is full. Why does the target still miss?
The team usually responds with more follow-up, more pipeline meetings, discounts and pressure at month-end. That can increase seller activity without changing whether buyers are actually moving.
What to check before “fixing closing”
Take ten open opportunities and ignore the stage name. For each one, write down the last meaningful action taken by the buyer, who owns the next step, and when that step is due. If the evidence is weak, the problem is pipeline admission and stage criteria before it is closing technique.
Would two managers independently put the same ten deals in the same stages using the same evidence?
What gets worse if you leave it alone
Forecast stays wrong. Hiring, cash planning and targets are built on opportunities that were never likely to close, while reps spend time protecting pipeline instead of creating buyer movement.
